I am thrilled to announce that I am one of the 2025 Matilda White Riley Early-Stage Investigator (ESI) Paper Competition award winners, sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH) Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR)!
The award recognizes an outstanding publication from 2024 lead authored by an early career scholar, and one that honors Dr. Riley's vision of research excellence in health-related behavioral and social sciences and has significant potential to shape the field.
The winning entry, titled "Maternal alcohol dependence symptoms, maternal insensitivity to child distress, and young children's blunted emotional reactivity" was co-authored by Melissa Sturge-Apple (University of Rochester), Patrick Davies (University of Rochester), and Dante Cicchetti (University of Minnesota) and published in Development and Psychopathology. It can be read, open access, on this site and here.
